Companion Animal Advocates, Borst Landscape & Design (owned by Shade Tree Commission Chairman Mark Borst) and the Hillsdale Animal Hospital will sponsor a free pet hazards lecture at 6:30 p.m. June 15 at the Hillsdale Library, 509 Hillsdale Ave., Hillsdale.
The lecture will inform pet owners of hazards such as what foods to not feed your pet, as well as what type of plants are pet-friendly and which they should stay away from. The lecture also will cover organic lawn care and what types of outdoor plantings are not a good idea for pet owners. Finally, organizers will offer organic ideas to keep deer from eating plants.
