Public Hearing on RIH School Budget

The public is invited to a public hearing at 7 p.m. March 31 on the proposed 2010-2011 Ramapo Indian Hills school budget.

The hearing, slated for the Ramapo High School auditorium, will include information on a series of spending cuts the board has been forced to make after losing its entire state aid package. The loss, news of which came just days before the budget needed an initial vote, necessitated across-the-board cuts while affecting the tax levy.

Board members and administrators will present the budget and explain the cuts, and members of the public will have the opportunity to ask questions and issue statements.

The budget's tax levy will be up for a vote on April 20.
