WYCKOFF, NJ — Raising awareness about hunger in the local community, Wyckoff police and firefighters bagged groceries at the ShopRite in the township in the hope that customers would donate to help fight hunger.
For a special “Bag Hunger” event Wednesday, officers and fire department personnel “lended their skills” to help store employees bag groceries, as the first responders asked customers to donate to help stock local food pantry shelves, Police Chief David Murphy said.
“(Wyckoff police) supported this event by using our voice and actions to help ensure no-one goes hungry,” Murphy said. “We are committed to joining in the mission to end hunger.”
