WYCKOFF, NJ — The annual fishing derby returns to Wyckoff this weekend.

The 43rd annual event is open to kids 15 and under, with prizes in different age categories.

Keri Elkin, of the family owned SuperJuice Nation smoothie shop in Wyckoff, said there will be some treats nearby.

"We'll be doing the buckets for the fish and offering some good deals to all participants on smoothies," she said.

Her relatively new family-owned smoothie store, at 637 Wyckoff Ave., whips up simple organic-based smoothies and smoothie bowls, providing some to camps and schools. They're fruit based with no sugar added. (Find out more about their offerings here: http://superjuicenation.com/ for more)

According to the town, registration starts at 8:30 a.m. this Saturday at Zabriskie Pond.

You must bring:

  • Fishing gear
  • Barbless hooks
  • And a bucket for the fish.

Bait and worms will be provided.

It's a "catch and release" event and fish must go back into the pond.

Prizes will be announced after 10:15 a.m. in three age categories for the largest catch.
