Former Franklin Lakes Housekeeper Charged with Stealing $3,500 Worth of Jewelry

Police have arrested the 23-year-old woman in connection to the Nov. 14 Glen Place burglary.

Police say a housekeeper was arrested last week after she allegedly stole jewelry from the Franklin Lakes home she worked for.

Aleksandra Polkowska, 23, of Garfield, was arrested and charged with the Nov. 14 jewelry theft from the Glen Place home after an investigation revealed she took approximately $3,500 worth of jewelry while employed as the housekeeper, Franklin Lakes Detective Lieutenant John Bakelaar said.

According to Cliffview Pilot, Franklin Lakes is the fifth law enforcement agency to charge Polkowska “with burglarizing the homes of employers to feed a heroin habit.”
