Franklin Lakes Kids Go Door to Door To Help Japanese
Third-graders from High Mountain Road School joined forces to raise money for Red Cross tsunami relief.
When Dean Logan, Max DiChiara and Andrew Romano heard about the Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan they banned together and started baking.
Their idea was to bake as many cookies, muffins, and cupcakes as possible and go door to door to ask for donations.
Mrs. Logan and Mrs. DiChiara assisted in the kitchen but it was these three boys who truly cooked with their hearts.

Once their red wagon was loaded with the baked goods they headed over to the Romano’s neighborhood to go door to door. They enlisted their friend and fellow classmate, Abby McMichael to help.
The four determined 9 year olds, hopped on their bikes and scooters and began knocking on doors. The response was overwhelming – the doors opened, baked goods were sold and they collected over $100.

Mrs. Logan and Mrs. Romano drove the kids to the Red Cross where they happily presented the money for the Japanese victims.
