WYCKOFF, NJ — "Do it big, do it right, and do it with style," the late dance legend Fred Astaire famously said. His exhortation was taken to heart Saturday evening with the grand opening of the new Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Wyckoff.

Music, dancing and other festivities set the grounds ablaze at the new studio at 291 Franklin Avenue, as stylishly dressed dance class students, their families and friends, and government officials arrived to show their support of the new Wyckoff business, the studio owners said.

"What a magical night," co-owners Mykhailo Anufriiev and Anna Vietrynska said in a Facebook post. "Words cannot describe all the feelings we have experienced prior, during and after our grand opening event this past Saturday."

Fred Astaire Wyckoff offers private and group dance classes for all ages, and even social dance parties, Anufriiev told Patch. Some of the current students presented live performances at the grand opening, which, the owners said, were the "highlights of the evening."

"You are our superstars," the two said.

Mayor Rudy Boonstra, who was in attendance, said, during Tuesday's township committee meeting, that he was "glad to participate," and called the opening a "high-end, elegant event."

"We are forever grateful," the owners said, "to (everyone) for spending this important day with us, helping and supporting us throughout this journey."

"We are very excited to be a part of the Wyckoff business family," Anufriiev added.
