Summer is the season for fresh produce. Whether you grow your own veggies, visit the many summer farmer's markets in the area or stop by Abma's Farm in Wyckoff, there is a bounty of berries, broccoli, beets and, of course, lettuces, to be had this time of year.
Patch stopped by Abma's Farm on Saturday to see what's fresh picked, what's new in summer salads, and of course, visit the animals. (There was an adorable group of little girls lined up for the pony rides.)
At the salad counter, the ladies in the kitchen have come up with yet another delicious way to dress up a chicken with the new Garlic and Basil Chicken salad. Is it better than their famous Waldorf Chicken Salad? You'll have to be the judge. They have also added an orzo salad and a broccoli slaw to the menu.

And what summer celebration would be complete without a strawberry rhubarb pie for dessert?
Editor's note: Rebecca K. Abma is not affiliated in any way with Abma's Farm, except through marriage. She and her husband, Bill, are not involved with the business in any way other than enjoying it as customers. (And no, she does not have the Waldorf Chicken Salad recipe.)
