WYCKOFF, NJ — If you think you can't drive 55, take note: you may have to slow down much more than that if you're heading through Wyckoff.
The speed limit has been reduced to 25 miles per hour on the following six roads:
- Clinton Avenue
- Eder Avenue
- Grandview Avenue
- Hillcrest Avenue
- Lawlins Road
- Newtown Road
Some believe the limit should be reduced on Mountain Avenue as well.

The town has been concerned about speeding for some time.
They posted a message on the town website noting that just because the limit was 35 miles per hour on some roads, this was not an "entitlement" to always go that fast.
The town said that according to New Jersey law, speed must be reduced when approaching an intersection, nearing a curve, and for nine other reasons. See them listed on the town website here.
