After Argument, Man Gets Out Of Moving Ambulance On NJ Highway

An employee at a private company got out of a moving ambulance after an argument with the driver on Route 208 Thursday, Wyckoff Police said.

WYCKOFF, NJ — An employee at a private company got out of a moving ambulance after an argument with the driver on Route 208 Thursday, Wyckoff Police said.

Officers from several jurisdictions responded to a 911 call, after someone reported a person fell out of a moving vehicle around 1:35 p.m. The caller told police the scene was on 208 South between Ewing and Russell Avenues.

A 21-year-old man was lying on the shoulder of the highway, police said. He had internal injuries and may have broken some bones. The man, who works for a private ambulance company, went to St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson for treatment.

Wyckoff Police said it appears the man was arguing with the driver, and got out of the ambulance while it as moving.

Franklin Lakes Police, Oakland Police, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the New Jersey State Department of Transportation responded to the scene, according to police.
