Baby Ingested Heroin in Home; Man Faces Prison Time
New Jersey couple knew child ingested the drugs and they planned on denying knowing that if questioned, police said.

A 26-year-old man has pleaded guilty to charges of child endangerment after police say his girlfriend’s baby ingested heroin last year.
Mark Tomat of Mahwah told a Superior Court Judge Friday that 23-year-old Tara Bradbury’s nine-month-old baby ingested heroin at Bradbury’s Wyckoff home on Feb. 15, 2014 and that he learned of the incident an hour after he left, according to NorthJersey.com.
Patch previously reported that when asked why the baby was unresponsive, the couple allegedly said they did not know. However, erased text messages reveled they knew “the child ingested the drugs and they planned on denying knowing that if questioned.”

The baby recovered after being given Narcan at Valley Hospital, and according to NorthJersey.com, does not have ”lasting effects.”
