County designates 4 buildings for those looking to 'beat the heat'
Bergen County Executive Dennis McNerney has issued a county-wide heat alert and announced the opening of four "Cooling Centers" to help residents beat the heat, including a facility in nearby Midland Park.
The cafeteria at the county's Administration Building in Hackensack and three of the county's senior centers will be open to the public until 6 p.m. today and will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday. Members of the Bergen County Health Department also will be available to handle heat-related health concerns.
