WYCKOFF, NJ — Two "scholastically talented" seniors at Indian Hills High School were named commended students in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program, Principal Gregory Vacca said.
Of the 1.5 million entrants, Christine Peng and Joseph LaMonica are among 34,000 students receiving "commended" status, placing them in the top 3% of the 1.5 million entrants across the country who took the rigorous PSAT / National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Although they will not continue in the competition for scholarship awards, the students are still being recognized for their scholastic talent, according to the Ramapo Indian Hills Regional School District's website.
