Parts Of Mountain Avenue Closed For Milling, Paving Project

The project is set to begin on Oct. 11, and parts of the road will be closed between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. that week.

WYCKOFF, NJ — A milling and paving project funded by two grants is set to begin in Wyckoff, closing a portion of Mountain Avenue while work is being done.

The project will see work done on Mountain Avenue between Sicomac Avenue and North Haledon beginning on Oct. 11. Work will continue through Oct. 15, weather permitting, resulting in the closure of that section of the road between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. each workday.

Wyckoff residents will have access to their homes on intersecting streets from one end of Mountain Avenue, but not both ends, officials said. A detour route will be established during the week.

Residents on Mountain Avenue, and adjacent dead-end streets intersecting Mountain Avenue, are "permitted and encouraged" to park their cars on accessible side streets as overnight parking rules will not be enforced in the area during the road work.

Officials are also asking those residents to put their trash out on Sunday evening, and their recycling out on Monday evening, so that early pickups can happen.
