Ramapo High Sectional Final Rescheduled After Coach's Death
The game has been rescheduled for Friday, Nov. 26, after the sudden death of iconic Ramapo High School Head Coach Drew Gibbs.

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ — The Ramapo High School football season will continue at least one more week, as the North 1, Group 4 final scheduled for Friday was moved after the death of Head Coach Drew Gibbs.
Northern Highlands, Ramapo's opponent, announced the news on Twitter, with kickoff now scheduled for 6:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26.

The move comes as both schools, and the New Jersey football community, continue morning Drew Gibbs after his sudden death this week. Gibbs, an iconic coach in North Jersey, died after emergency heart surgery. He was 59.
Gibbs' death was met with immense grief and sadness from those across the state, including figures with little influence in high school football.

"The love and support that everyone has shown has been overwhelming. Coach Gibbs was not only a tremendous coach but an even better man and everyone that crossed paths with him as expressed that he enriched their lives. We love you," the Ramapo Football program said, in a statement on Twitter.

As the football program continues grieving, services have been scheduled for Gibbs, according to an online obituary.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Cornerstone Christian Church, 495 Wyckoff Ave., in Wyckoff. A service of remembrance will follow, scheduled for 6 p.m.
