Ramapo HS Varsity Cheering Team Wins First Place at Big North Competition

The team is made up of 19 girls, ranging from freshmen to seniors, who have been training for the season and national competition since July

The Ramapo High School Varsity Cheer team recently took first place at the Big North cheer competition held at Paramus Catholic High School. The team competed in the Freedom category against teams throughout Bergen County.

“This first place win couldn’t have happened at a better time,” said Head Coach Ariel Shortino. “ As we prepare for a national competition at the end of the month, this win gives us an end-of-season boost that will carry us through a truly successful season.”

The winning team is comprised of 19 girls, ranging from freshmen to senior students, who have been training since July for the season and the national competition that will be held in Orlando, FL later this month.
