
Ramapo Cross Country
The Ramapo boys and girls competed this past weekend at the Shore Coaches Invitational in Holmdel.
The boys finished 14th out of 28 teams, with standout runner Bradley Paternostro finishing fifth in his heat with a time of 16:45. Paternostro's run was the second fastest time on the Holmdel course in Ramapo history.

The girls did not fare as well, finishing 21st out of 25 teams. However, Deanna DiLandro placed 10th in her heat with a time of 20:10, good enough for the fourth fastest time registered at Holmdel in Ramapo history. Additionally, DiLandro had the third fastest of all the Bergen County girls competing that day.

- The freshmen squad blanked Fair Lawn, 4-0, in a rainy game Monday.
Mike Gostkowski and Harry Tomczyk put the Raiders up 2-0 at the half, on goals assisted by Steven Azzolino. The score held until 10 minutes were left in the game, when Matt Grassi received an assist from Andrew Hartopholis for a goal. Grassi would put the exclamation point on the win with about three miutes left with a goal assisted by Justin Macaluso.
Nate Chung and Grassi recorded the shutout in goal.
The freshmen next play Passaic Valley at home Thursday at 4:15 p.m..
- The varsity boys also scored a win Monday over Fair Lawn, 4-1.
