Rt. 208 Traffic Stop Leads To Prostitution Charges: Police

A man and woman face prostitution charges following a motor vehicle stop in Franklin Lakes on Monday evening, according to police.

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ - A man and woman face prostitution charges following a motor vehicle stop in Franklin Lakes on Monday evening, according to police.

Around 7:45 p.m., Officer Ryan Sweeney pulled over a car traveling on Route 208 and further investigation led to the arrest of Kristie Pattin, 38, of Stirling, and Eduardo Areche, 43, of Wanaque, Capt. John Bakelaar said.

Pattin was charged with possession of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and prostitution, while Areche was charged with soliciting prostitution and false imprisonment, the captain said.

According to Bakelaar, the false imprisonment charge was included because Pattin "knowingly restrained Pattin" by holding her seatbelt "in the secured position while driving the co-defendant to an unwanted location."
