WYCKOFF, NJ — Closing the regular season with a 12-0 unbeaten streak, the Eisenhower Middle School boys soccer team in Wyckoff continued to build toward a second-straight league championship.

And that dream came true last week when the Generals won the title 5-2 against Montvale, after winning their two playoff games in the North Bergen Middle School Athletic League championship.

"The coach and players were thrilled with their success this year," Coach Aldo Cascio said, adding that he attributes the team's success to the boys' willingness to play together as a unit rather than pursue individual success.

"The boys worked hard all season long to maintain a high level while also having a great time together as a team," Cascio said.

Cascio's own impact on his players' confidence and dedication to teamwork is also appreciated, school Principal Brian Faehndrich said.

"In Wyckoff schools, we pride ourselves on pursing excellence in all areas," Superintendent Kerry Postma said, "and Coach Cascio and his team have done just that with their hard work and talent."
