Sicomac Principal Search Continues

The search for a replacement for Sicomac Elementary Principal Debbie Kirsch is in the first interview phase.

Sicomac Elementary School was named as one of New Jersey’s “Rewards Schools” for their outstanding academic record. A short time later they learned that their Principal, Debbie Kirsch, would be leaving the district.

The Wyckoff Board of Education suddenly found themselves without a leader for the newly awarded Sicomac School. Superintendent Richard Kuder will play a major role in the hiring of a replacement.

“Currently we are conducting the first round of interviews,” said Kuder. “We’ve had upwards of 70 people express interest in the position. Our process should lead us to a person by the end of the school year, the earlier than that the better. We are waiting for the right person.”

In the search of a replacement for Kirsch, the Board of Education is searching with the highest of standards. Kuder did express confidence in the candidate pool and believes the next Sicomac Principal is among them.
