Thursday: Wyckoff Library Seeks Resident Input
The library will host a town hall meeting Thursday night to incorporate resident suggestions into a new strategic plan.

What would bring you to the library more often?
The Wyckoff Public Library wants to know, and is holding a town hall meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the Shotmeyer room to hear feedback from residents on how it can best use its newly upgraded facility.
Suggestions will be incorporated into the drafting of a strategic plan that will guide the library’s programming from 2014-2016, and is set to be completed this fall.

“It really would be nice to hear from people who haven’t been here and may not know what a modern library is all about,” said Joellen Tierney, the library’s circulation director and a member of the strategic planning committee. “I think that people that don’t use the library are unaware of what we have available.”
Since the library reopened last year with a newly renovated facility, she said, it has added meeting space to host programming such as teen game nights, film screenings, and live performances.

The library feels its collection is “solid,” she said, and hopes that nonusers will show up tonight to voice their opinions on how the new meeting space can be used expanded programs.
“We’re in a wonderful position to focus on programs for people,” Tierney said. “You’ve got a great space here, and it belongs to the town. Come and enjoy it.”
The library will strive to include feedback from the town hall in its plan for the future, as well as the results of focus groups of teens and adults held recently, she said.
