While Scalise remained with the prisoner, he radioed communications and requested assistance from Port Authority Police, Soto said. Teegan determined the driver was unresponsive, removed him from the vehicle and discovered he was not breathing, Soto said.
Teegan began chest compressions and was quickly joined by Port Authority officers, according to the lieutenant. An automated external defibrillator was hooked up and several shocks were delivered to revive the man. He was then taken to a local hospital, Soto said.
