Wyckoff Police Make Two Arrests for Assault

Police say a boyfriend allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and another man allegedly assaulted his sister.

Wyckoff Police made two assault arrests earlier this month after they say one man allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and another allegedly assaulted his sister.

The first arrest came on Feb. 1 when Wyckoff Police responded to a Clinton Avenue home on a report of a domestic violence incident and determined that a 24-year-old Wyckoff woman had been assaulted by her 22-year-old boyfriend during an argument, Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin C. Fox said.

“The woman had allegedly been thrown to the ground where she struck her head, and had also been struck in the face,” Chief Fox said. She sustained minor facial injuries.

The man fled the scene and was later arrested at his home by Wanaque Police. He was charged with assault and released in his own recognizance.

The second arrest came the next day, Feb. 2, when Wyckoff Police responded to a Franklin Avenue home on a report of a domestic violence incident and determined that a 26-year-old Wyckoff man had assaulted his sister during an argument, according to Chief Fox. The assault occurred after the man broke down a door to his sister’s bedroom with a 2x4 and threatened others in the house with the piece of wood.
