Wyckoff Police Want Help Solving Mystery: Who Messed With Mailboxes?

On the heels of cases of stolen mail in Bergen County, Wyckoff police are investigating a new mailbox mystery.

WYCKOFF, NJ — Months after police in one Bergen County town — Glen Rock — said that numerous checks were stolen and cashed from mailboxes there, another town is dealing with a new mailbox mystery.

The Wyckoff Police Department Detective Bureau said in a message on Friday that they want to find out who's been opening mailboxes on one street.

They did not indicate that any items were taken or damaged.

They said they were "investigating multiple open mailboxes reported along Lafayette Ave."

The boxes found to be opened between the afternoon of Thursday and early morning of Friday the 13th, the police said.

They asked residents who "witnessed anything or have surveillance footage" to contact the Detective Bureau at 201-891-2121 or detectives@wyckoffpolice.org.
