Wyckoff Residents Open Theatre Company, Present Show March 6-7
Next to Normal is a "challenging" show about a "family dealing with a mentally ill mother and how they cope and find ways to handle it."

Two Wyckoff residents turned their love for the arts into a business.
Randi Seffinger and Jo Ann Ventor have both went through multiple careers, including attorney, real estate appraiser, soccer mom and director of children’s theatre, but their newest venture shares a common love they have for the arts.
Buzz Theatre Productions was started last year by the two Wyckoff residents who met while working on the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Ramapo High School in 2013.

“We’ve always talked about doing this,” said Randi Seffinger. “...we kind of went for it.”
Now Buzz Theatre Production’s first show, Next to Normal, will be presented on March 6 and 7 at the Old Paramus Reformed Church in Ridgewood.

Next to Normal is a “challenging” show about a “family dealing with a mentally ill mother and how they cope and find ways to handle it,” Seffinger said.
But this production hasn’t been the product of Seffinger and Ventor alone.
It has been “a true labor of love,” as many family members have been involved in various aspects including performance, music, lighting, set construction, graphic design and more. The show also involves several local students, including many from Ramapo High School and Bergen County Academies.
“We’re really excited about this show, to see where this goes and see where it ends up,” Seffinger said. “We hope we have a lot of shows ... in our future.”
Next to Normal will premiere Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7 at 8 p.m. both nights.
