🌱 Local Artists Are Being Called Upon + APS Hosting Upcoming Job Fair

- After serving the community for more than 60 years, Griff's Hamburgers has said its goodbyes to Albuquerque as the restaurant has announced it will be permanently closing its doors. Griff's of America said in the announcement that the location on Central Avenue SE will be closing down due to unsafe and undesirable conditions. The restaurant will continue its operations in Texas and Louisiana, and one day hopes to return to Duke City. (KOAT New Mexico)
- Local artists in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County are being called upon to show their talents as chalk murals are needed for the Ninth Annual Bosque Chili Fest. Individual artists or small teams will have until midnight on Friday, Jul. 21 to enter for their opportunity to be chosen, all that is needed is examples of previous work and a written proposal. The project is creating two 4x8 chalk murals, artists must be 18 and older and provide their own chalk. Bosque Chile Fest will be taking place at Expo New Mexico's Villa Hisana on Aug. 19 and 20, for more information you can click here. (KRQE News 13)
- This Tuesday, Jul. 11, Albuquerque Public Schools is looking to work on filling various positions in the school district, including nearly 300 teaching positions. The job fair will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Berna Facio Professional Development Center. To participate in the job fair, you need to register for the event, bring copies of your resume, and dress to impress as you could be offered a position on the spot. - If you're heading to the Isotopes game on Sunday, Jul. 16, in addition to watching your team play, you'll get an opportunity to watch a great show with the Zooperstars making an appearance. - Earlier this week, the Albuquerque Police Department congratulated and rewarded July's Employees of the Month as well as gave out its Life-Saving Awards.
