Here are the top three stories today in Albuquerque:

  1. The Albuquerque Police Department has arrested a suspect in the murder of four Muslim men. Muhammad Syed, 51, has arrested near Santa Rosa on Monday night. He has been charged with the homicides of Aftab Hussein and Muhammad Afzaal Hussain. Bullet casings collected at the shooting scenes connected the two homicides. According to the department, the suspect knew the victims. (KRQE News 13)
  2. ABQ BioPark has announced the return of its in-person program, "Discover the BioPark." The program is meant to educate students on science in a fun interactive way. “Discover the BioPark” had been offered in a virtual format during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program requires a 10-person minimum per group. (KRQE News 13)
  3. The University of New Mexico has announced the construction of a new College of Nursing and Public Health Excellence building. The building will feature three floors. The project will reportedly cost about $43 million. The building will hopefully remedy the state's nursing shortage. (KOAT New Mexico)
