Deal reached to turn tower near San Mateo and Central into affordable housing (koat.com) — A long-vacant 10‑story tower near San Mateo and Central in Albuquerque’s International District is slated to become Serenade at Park Central, a mixed‑income housing project with 110 units, including 41 affordable apartments. Construction is expected to start in early January with city support of about $2 million alongside $23 million in private funding, despite recent vandalism and a contained basement fire.

4. New Mexico State Police Announces Graduation of 106th Recruit Class (grantcountybeat.com) — Eighteen new New Mexico State Police officers will graduate in a ceremony set for December 19 at 4701 Wyoming Blvd NE in Albuquerque. The recruits, who trained for months in physical, academic, and scenario-based skills, will now serve communities across the state from Santa Fe and Taos to Silver City and Clovis.
