Here are the top three stories today in Albuquerque:
- Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to an incident that occurred at an Albuquerque arroyo on Monday. Crews rescued a man from the channel at Menaul. The victim is reportedly safe. The incident was due to the Monday afternoon storm hitting the city. (KOB 4)
- The New Mexico Attorney General's Office suspects that Albuquerque shoplifters are using the city's public bus system as a mode of get-away transportation. The office came to the conclusion after receiving surveillance footage of a group of shoplifters using city buses. The office believes that the trend began when the city waived bus fares at the beginning of the year. (KRQE News 13)
- The Albuquerque Metropolitan Redevelopment Agency has awarded grants to 15 businesses. The grants are meant to boost Downtown commercial activity by improving ground-level properties. The grants totaled $500,000. The organization continues to maintain a waitlist for future grants. (The Business Journals)
