  1. An Albuquerque teenager has been sentenced in a deadly 2020 apartment shooting. Adam Herrera, 17, pleaded guilty to murder on Monday as part of a plea deal in the case. The judge in the case gave Herrera the maximum sentence of 18 years, with five years of parole and five years of supervised probation after his release. (KOB 4)
  2. The intersection of Central and Tingley will be closed to pedestrians during the River of Lights holiday event in Albuquerque. During the closure, people attending the event will be required to use the designated bicycle and pedestrian path located under Central Bridge. The 25th Annual River of Lights celebration runs through Dec. 30 at the ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden. (KRQE News 13)
  3. More than 150 shelter pets found new homes during the city's Black Friday adoption event this year. Despite the success of the event, Albuquerque's animal shelters still had a total of 951 animals waiting to find their forever homes. Desiree Cawley, a spokesperson for the city's Animal Welfare Department, says the city has another pet adoption event planned for December. (Albuquerque Journal)
