Here are the top three stories in Albuquerque today:

  1. The Federal Bureau of Investigation met with local contractors on Saturday to educate them on cyber security. The education seminar occurred at Sandia Resort. Local organizations such as Albuquerque Public Schools have been the target of recent cyber attacks. The agency also reminded contractors to contact them right away if a cyber attack occurs. (KRQE News 13)
  2. Albuquerque BioPark animals have been vaccinated against COVID-19. The vaccinations were given by zookeepers after extensive training. The animals are trained to lean in for injections to ensure safety. While Albuquerque zoo animals have not yet contracted COVID-19, several zoo animals around the country contracted the virus during the pandemic. Prevention is the best course of action for animals since there aren't any COVID treatments for animals. (KOB 4)
  3. The Albuquerque Police Department seized thousands of fentanyl pills during two separate arrests. Timothy Carrera and Valentina Martinez were arrested with a total of 14,500 fentanyl pills. They were also arrested with $27,000 in cash. They have both been charged with drug trafficking. (KRQE News 13)
