2 West Babylon Students Qualify for NYS DECA State Competition

WEST BABYLON, NY — Two students from West Babylon Senior High School have earned a spot at the New York State DECA State Conference following standout performances at the regional level.

Students Diego Pettinato and Jean Guerrero recently competed in the DECA regional competition, which drew thousands of students from across New York State to showcase their business, marketing and entrepreneurship skills.

Guerrero qualified for the state competition in the Hotel and Lodging Management event, while Pettinato earned qualification in the Entrepreneurship Series event. Both students demonstrated strong preparation, professionalism and business acumen throughout the highly competitive regional contest.

The New York State DECA State Conference will be held in March in Rochester, where Pettinato and Guerrero will represent West Babylon Senior High School and the West Babylon School District on the state stage.
