Ambulance Carrying Patient Crashes In Huntington; 5 Injured: Police

Both drivers, two passengers, and the patient inside the ambulance suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Suffolk County Police are investigating a crash involving an ambulance and a passenger vehicle that injured five people in Huntington on Tuesday.

According to the Suffolk County Police Department, the crash occurred on Jan. 7 when an ambulance traveling north on Park Avenue collided with a 2021 Lexus driven by a 71-year-old Forest Hills woman.

Police said the ambulance was transporting a patient to Huntington Hospital at the time of the collision. Both drivers, two passengers, and the patient inside the ambulance were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said.

Police noted that no additional information is being released regarding the reason the patient was being transported to the hospital.
