Kilwins Celebrates One-Year Anniversary in Babylon

Chocolate and ice cream shop now offering brand-new services after a successful year.

Kilwins celebrated its one-year anniversary at its location on Deer Park Avenue with a big celebration, featuring balloon artists, free food and face painting.

The chocolate and ice cream shop opened exactly one year ago on April 14, 2012, taking over the location formerly occupied by Young Imagination Toys before it moved across the street.

Kilwins owner John Murray III had more than just sweet treats to show his celebration guests dropping by the storefront – the shop recently purchased a rentable ice cream cart, complete with enough space for six flavors and comes with its own hot water heater and sink for various other activities.

The shop will begin renting the cart out to parties and other get-togethers soon, according to Murray.

"We just want to thank everyone for allowing us to be part of this community," Murray and his staff wrote on their Facebook page later in the day. "Thank you all for your support. It is our pleasure to serve you."
