Man Killed In Bay Shore House Fire: Police
A resident of a home on Oklahoma Avenue in Bay Shore was killed by a house fire on Tuesday, Suffolk County police say.
BAY SHORE, NY — A man died in a Bay Shore house fire Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.
Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad and Arson Section detectives are investigating a house fire at 16 Oklahoma in Bay Shore that killed Artemio Gonzalez, 77, on Tuesday around 12:30 p.m., police said. Fire department officials said it took around two hours to extinguish the blaze.
According to police, Gonzalez was a resident of the home. After the fire began, a family member, a Third Precinct officer and a "good Samaritan" worked together to get Gonzalez out of the house. He was then transported to South Shore Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The family member and the police officer were treated at a local hospital for smoke inhalation, police said.
Police believe the cause of the fire to be non-criminal.
