After Boston Marathon Blasts, NYPD Tightens Security

Police deploying critical response vehicles to hotels and other prominent locations until more is known, the department's spokesman said.

Update 5:01 p.m.: Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis says during media briefing that a third incident occured at JFK library. Not certain related if related to the incidents that happened simultaneously on Boylstons Street, but Boston Police are treating it like it is, Backbay Patch reported.

Following a pair of explosions that left at least two dead and 22 injured at the Boston Marathon, the NYPD is tightening security at home.

"We're stepping up security at hotels and other prominent locations in the city through deployment of the NYPD's critical response vehicles (CRVs) until more about the explosion is learned," Paul J Browne, the NYPD's deputy commissioner said in a written statement.  

Boston Police are reporting 22 injured, two dead, the statment said.
