Brooklyn's Third Trader Joe's To Open In Williamsburg This Week
The 22,000-square-foot grocery store will open on Kent Avenue on Friday. Here's what to know.

BROOKLYN, NY — A highly-anticipated new Trader Joe's on Kent Avenue will officially open its doors this week, the company announced.
The Williamsburg location, the third from the beloved grocer in Brooklyn, will host a grand opening on Friday, Dec. 10 at its spot on the corner of Metropolitan Avenue.
The 22,000-square-foot store is the first in the neighborhood and the third in the borough. It joins a Court Street store in Boerum Hill and Downtown Brooklyn's City Point location on Gold Street.

The Williamsburg opening celebration will include a ceremony, ribbon cutting, live music and reusable bag giveaway, all set to kick off around the 8 a.m. opening, according to the company.
The new store features colorful artwork that pays tribute to the area, including the Williamsburg Bridge and the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway. Around 80 percent of the store's crew and all off its new hires are from the neighborhood, according to the company.

The Trader Joe's has been in the works since at least 2015, when the company signed a lease for the Williamsburg property, according to a Crain’s report at the time.
Trader Joe's also recently opened a Long Island City location and an Upper East Side store this year.
