Man Shot in Stomach on Atlantic Ave

Police are looking for 2-3 men involved in a shooting Tuesday afternoon on Atlantic Avenue.

On Tuesday, February 19, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a 35-year-old man identified as Anthony Smith, was shot in the stomach while standing outside of Rich's Auto Repair, located at 1795 Atlantic Avenue.

According to police reports, the victim was at the auto repair shop to get his light and mirror fixed. Smith was waiting outside the shop while the mechanic went inside to get a screwdriver when a black car suddenly pulled up.

Inside of the vehicle were 2-3 men, one of whom fired six shots at the victim, hitting him once in the stomach. The mechanic said he heard shooting, but there were not witnesses.

The victim was rushed to Kings County Hospital where he was listed in fair condition. The detective squad is working the case.
