Assemblyman McDonough Starts School Supply Collection Drive in Bellmore
Items can be dropped off at McDonough's district office at 404 Bedford Ave. until Aug. 24.

Assemblyman David G. McDonough, R-Merrick, announced Monday that he, in association with the John Theissen Children’s Foundation, is seeking the donation of school supplies for the 2012-13 school year.
The materials will be distributed to underprivileged children from low-income families.
"Back to school time can be extremely difficult for many children whose families cannot afford new clothes or school supplies," McDonough said. "With your donation, you can make a child feel good about themselves and look forward to attending school. It is my privilege to be able to participate in this program.”
Items such as backpacks, spiral notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, markers and other classroom necessities will be accepted. In addition, the foundation will take monetary donations to provide new clothing for children to wear.
The collection drive will be until Aug. 24 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily. Items can be dropped off at Assemblyman McDonough’s district office at 404 Bedford Ave. For more information contact Assemblyman McDonough at (516) 409-2070.
