1 Man Killed, Another Injured By For-Hire Driver In BK: NYPD, Report

An argument between a for-hire driver and two passengers turned violent Thursday in Brooklyn, police and the Daily News said.

BROOKLYN, NY — One man was killed and his cousin was fighting for his life Thursday after getting into an argument with their for-hire driver, according to police and the New York Daily News.

Carlos Guaman, 66, of Brooklyn, died Thursday after being found unconscious on the ground on 9th Street between Avenues S and T, according to the NYPD.

The man was found with his 52-year-old cousin, who was also unconscious with head trauma, according to police and the Daily News.

Both men were rushed to an area hospital, where Guaman was pronounced dead, police said.

Police told the Daily News Guaman and his cousin got into an argument with their for-hire driver, who beat both men and then drove away.

Police had not made any arrests Friday, but the investigation continued, according to the NYPD.

The surviving cousin's ex-wife told the Daily News the men were extremely close and she was shocked by the slaying.

“It’s shocking to me,” she told the Daily News.
