Boy Stabbed In The Chest By Another Child In Brooklyn Park: NYPD (patch.com) — A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured after being stabbed in the chest at Betsy Head Park in Brownsville, drawing a major police response to the Brooklyn playground. Officers say another child is believed responsible, and two boys, ages 9 and 12, are being questioned while investigators work to determine what sparked the attack.

PHOTOS: Suspected Gunmen Wanted In NYC Shooting That Injured 6 Teens (patch.com) — Brooklyn residents are being asked to help identify two suspected gunmen after a Sweet 16 party on Atlantic Avenue turned violent, leaving six teenagers wounded. NYPD has released detailed surveillance images and clothing descriptions as detectives probe a possible gang connection to the East New York shooting.

Mayor Adams Announces Seven Appointments to Brooklyn Marine Terminal Development Corporation (edc.nyc) — Brooklyn’s Red Hook waterfront is moving closer to a massive transformation as Mayor Adams appoints seven members to the new Brooklyn Marine Terminal Development Corporation board. The group will guide plans for an all-electric port, thousands of new homes including affordable units, and acres of public space, plus infrastructure and resiliency upgrades that could reshape jobs, housing, and open space along the borough’s working waterfront.
   

4. Massive Borough Park bakery fire injures one firefighter, three civilians (brooklynreporter.com) — A four-alarm fire tore through a Borough Park matzah bakery early Wednesday, seriously injuring a firefighter and one civilian and forcing a full vacate order on the damaged building. More than 170 FDNY and EMS personnel battled the blaze, which also hurt two other nearby residents and left adjacent Brooklyn structures with fire damage while marshals investigate the cause.
   

5. Defendant sentenced for fatal shooting of stranger near Barclays Center (brooklyneagle.com) — A man has been sentenced to 25 years to life for fatally shooting a stranger near the Barclays Center in Boerum Hill, underscoring a major Brooklyn homicide case. Prosecutors detailed how the victim was gunned down on Atlantic Avenue in 2017, and Brooklyn’s district attorney emphasized that, despite this tragedy, overall gun violence in the borough is at record lows.
