Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:

  1. Police are investigating at least two incidents involving antisemitic attacks in Brooklyn over the weekend. On Friday night, a Hasidic Jewish man was punched in the face while walking down the street in Bed-Stuy, and was treated at the scene for minor injuries. On Sunday morning, multiple yeshiva school buses were spray painted with swastika graffiti in Williamsburg. The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating these crimes that have caused great concern within the Jewish community. (CBS New York)
  2. The affordable housing lottery has launched for Vital Brookdale at 535 East 98 St. in Brownsville. The structure yields 16o housing units, 117 of which are available as part of the lottery. The development features many indoor and outdoor amenities for prospective tenants. (New York YIMBY)
  3. Over 130 firefighters were dispatched in response to a fire that erupted at a Bed-Stuy construction site. The structure at 194 Gates Ave. had been subject to numerous complaints from nearby residents since 2017, concerned with the presence of squatters, large amounts of trash, and graffiti on the site. No serious injuries were reported in connection with the fire. (Paywall: The New York Times)
