Assailants Waving Israeli Flag Caught On Brooklyn Surveillance Video
The men assaulted an 18-year-old in Bay Ridge last week, police said.

BAY RIDGE, NY — A group of men who police say spouted anti-Palestinian remarks before attacking a teen in Bay Ridge were caught on camera, police said Wednesday.
Police released surveillance camera footage of the nine men accused of punching and kicking an 18-year-old on 86th Street between 4th and 5th avenues on Oct. 11, according to the NYPD.
No arrests had been made by Wednesday, and the attack was being investigated as a hate crime, police said.

The Israeli-flag-wielding group was driving back and forth and yelled things like "f--- Palestine" before approaching three men between the ages of 18 and 21, according to the NYPD.
Only the 18-year-old was injured in the attack, police said.

In a joint statement with state Sen. Andrew Gounardes, Council Member Justin Brannan condemned the attack and called for peace in Brooklyn.
"So many New Yorkers have loved ones in the Middle East who live every single day with the hard reality of this conflict," the two lawmakers said. "No one deserves to be attacked for their identity or their beliefs, and we won't stand for it in our community or anywhere."
Two other violent attacks related to ongoing violence in Israel and Gaza rattled New York City last week. In Gravesend, two young boys pointed fake guns toward a synagogue, police said.
Near Brooklyn Navy Yard, two apparently Jewish men walked up to two men holding Palestinian flags, grabbed a flag and hit one man over the head, ABC7 reported.
