Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:
- A man was found dead in Brooklyn after a brush fire along the Belt Parkway. Responding units approached the fire near the Flatbush Avenue exit, and discovered an encampment at the burn site. Upon putting out the fire, the responders discovered the body, and it is believed that the victim was alone and cooking food, leading to the blaze. (AMNY)
- A chain-reaction crash in Canarsie led to a 48-year-old man being crushed between two cars. The victim, Everton Stewart from Jamaica, was detailing a car outside of his parents' home when a driver struck a double-parked car. The victim was pinned between two vehicles, and was pronounced dead from the impact. (NBC New York)
- The Brooklyn mother who dropped her infant boy from a balcony has been arrested and charged with attempted murder. When officers responded to the family's Mapleton residence, they found the 6-month-old boy severely injured, with multiple fractured ribs and broken bones. As of Saturday afternoon, the child remained in the ICU at Maimonides Medical Center. (MSN)
