BROOKLYN, NY - A 61-year-old Brooklyn man was killed following a parking dispute with a tow truck driver at a Brownsville gas station, authorities said.

Kevon M. Johnson, 30, of Canarsie, was charged with assault following a fight at 1143 Clarkson Ave., which resulted in Johnson punching the victim in the face, police said.

The victim, Carlyle Thomas, of Brownsville, fell and hit the pavement after being punched, police said. Medics rushed him to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Thomas lived next door to the gas station and had an arrangement with the station’s owners, which allowed him to park there for $10 if he couldn’t find street parking, ABC7 reported.

The victim reportedly tried to climb into Johnson’s tow truck to prevent his car from being towed, the outlet added.
