Body Pulled From Water Near NYC's Mill Basin Bridge, NYPD Says

BROOKLYN, NY — Police are investigating after a man’s body was found along the water near Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn Monday afternoon.

The NYPD’s Harbor Unit recovered the man’s body from Jamaica Bay around 12:10 p.m. and brought it to the shoreline at Floyd Bennett Field — a former airfield now part of the Gateway National Recreation Area, officials said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, an NYPD spokesperson said.

Police have not released his identity as of Tuesday morning, pending notification of his family.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is still working to determine the man’s cause of death.
