Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:

  1. Brooklyn will be adding two new judges to its Supreme Court next year. Lawmakers in the state's capital approved bills that will expand the judicial system across New York to tackle "chronic backlog." The additions will bring the total number of Brooklyn judges to 52. (Brooklyn Paper)
  2. City officials are investigating an apparent school shooting threat on social media. The post was noticed on Friday and discusses specific weapons and ammunition. The threat comes in the wake of one of the nation's deadliest school shootings in Uvalde, Texas, and officials are working to ensure the safety of the community. (News 12 Bronx)
  3. A Brooklyn bus driver was stabbed early on Tuesday morning following an argument. The attacker attempted to force his way onto the bus by opening the rear doors while the bus was following its route. The 39-year-old driver was stabbed in his stomach and slashed over his eye and is expected to survive his injuries. (AMNY)
  4. A Brooklyn public school teacher was arrested after allegedly throwing a 12-year-old student to the ground. On Saturday at P.S. 178 on Dean Street, a dispute between the teacher and student led to a physical altercation. The reason for the argument is unclear, but the 30-year-old teacher was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child. (NBC New York)
  5. John Hinckley Jr., who is known for his 1981 assassination attempt on then President Ronald Reagan, will perform a concert to a sold-out Brooklyn crowd in July. Hinckley is scheduled to play on July 8 at the Brooklyn Market Hotel. The 67 year old was initially released under restriction in 2016, and had been living with his family in Virginia.
