Brooklyn French Restaurant Earns Michelin Star
Yuu, a French Contemporary eatery in Williamsburg, recently earned its first Michelin star alongside seven other New York City restaurants.
BROOKLYN, NY — French restaurant Yuu earned its first Michelin star this week, joining an ever-growing list of acclaimed New York City eateries.
The "seductive" restaurant sits between across from McCarren Park on Nassau Avenue and Guernsey Street, serving high-end French dishes "through the eyes of Japanese omotenashi," Michelin reviewers said.
Yuu joins 400 other New York Michelin Guide restaurants, including 12 across the city to earn stars this week, including odo in Flatiron and Sushi Noz on the Upper East Side.

Diners at Yuu trade $250 for a 20-course tasting menu, a price that can drop with no alcohol or increase to $378 with an elite wine and sake menu.
In early October, the tasting menu included pairings like squid and caviar, tomato with basil shaved ice, soft shell turtle with white asparagus and truffle, pan-seared Sea Bass with mussel and artichoke and melon cream soda.

Michelin reports dishes like binchotan-seared wagyu, brioche with foie gras and aged duck.
Diners sit among large flower arrangements and enjoy the "ballet-like" rhythm of an open kitchen, according to Michelin reviewers.
The restaurant opened in July as the brainchild of chef Yuu Shimano and in-house pastry chef Masaki Takahashi.
"Restaurant Yuu pours on the drama, albeit in a supremely elegant way," Michelin reviewers said.
