  1. Brooklyn has seen a rise in pre-foreclosures notices following the end of the eviction moratorium, a response to COVID-19. Over 1,000 of the notices, known as lis pendens, have been filed since the beginning of 2022. Despite the large amount of lis pendens, foreclosures are still down considerably from pre-pandemic levels. (Brooklyn Paper)
  2. A rabbi was pulled from his car and attacked in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. Surveillance footage captured the moment he was being beaten, while his 5-year-old son was sitting in the car. The NYPD continues to investigate the incident, while Rabbi Yossie Hershkop was treated at a local hospital. (WPLG Local 10)
  3. Actor Edward Norton is trying to prevent a historic Bed-Stuy mansion from being demolished. The Jacob Dangler House on Willoughby Avenue is in danger of being torn down and turned into a condominium. Norton is one of dozens of neighbors and advocates who have appealed to the city's landmarks board to protect the property. (Patch)
  4. Mayor Eric Adams proposed an initiative to improve upon the city's ferry system. The "NYC Ferry Forward" program will feature discounted rates for certain groups, make it easier to bike to and from the ferries, and introduce other perks that could improve the ferry experience. Eligible New Yorkers will have to chance to apply for the Ferry Discount Program through the NYC Ferry website. (Brooklyn Daily Eagle)
