Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:

  1. A Brooklyn man who sex trafficked a 16 year old has been sentenced to 8 and a half years in prison. Jermaine Taylor, 37, was sentenced on Thursday after pleading guilty to attempted sex trafficking for the 10 months he forced the teen to have sex with men in Brooklyn and Queens in 2019. Taylor will be registered as a sex offender upon his release, and will face five additional years of supervision. (Patch)
  2. A 25-year-old man who was shot in East Flatbush last weekend has died from his wounds. The victim, Kyle Lewis, was taken to Brookdale Hospital, and was pronounced dead on Thursday. It was unclear what led to the violence, but Lewis lived less than a mile away from the shooting. (Yahoo News)
  3. The MTA's proposed subway line between Brooklyn and Queens, the Interborough Express, and a Port Authority-managed public transit route to LaGuardia Airport, could link in Jackson Heights. The Interborough Express would run from Bay Ridge to northwest Queens. Both the MTA and Port Authority are gathering public input on these plans. (Patch)
